Mesut Ozil Could Leave Arsenal in the January Transfer Window
Not long ago, Arsenal persuaded Ozil to sign a new contract to counter any move of the player leaving the team. The deal saw Ozil earn £300,000 per week, which is one of the biggest contracts in Europe.
The Independent reported in a recent blog that they have been told the Spanish manager would be open to selling Ozil, with the issue stemming from a lingering disagreement over his tactical role.
Mesut Ozil was again left out of the squad on Wednesday for the League Cup (Carabao Cup) quarter-final which ended in defeat to Tottenham Hotspur. He was also left on the bench during the 3:2 defeat in Southampton.
Another source stated that “Every player has bought into the manager’s ideas so far, except Mesut.”
